We were selected by the joint venture developing the new football stadium at the Meadowlands Sports Complex to represent them in connection with the environmental, land use, and construction permitting required for this unique project.
For the first time, two professional football teams formed a joint venture to construct a state-of-the-art stadium with private financing. The stadium is located within the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority’s Meadowlands Complex. As a result, the project was subject to a unique approval process involving several public hearings and review by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission, in addition to the various permits normally required in New Jersey. The project involved oversight by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, NJ Transit, NJDOT, the NJ Turnpike Authority, and the Sports Authority.
We were part of a team of architects, civil engineers, and traffic engineers who successfully coordinated all of the federal, state, and local permitting requirements for this complex project.
